New Orleans Voudou is a sacred blend of African spirituality, Catholic devotion, and deep southern folk mysticism. Within this living tradition, the Loa (or Lwa) act as divine intermediaries, guiding and assisting those who call upon them with respect and sincerity. The Saints, revered within both the Catholic and folk traditions, also serve as powerful allies, bridging heaven and earth through prayer, faith, and offering. My work combines the sacred practices of both Voudou and Conjure (Hoodoo), drawing upon candle rituals, prayer, herbalism, and spiritual intercession to support healing, protection, love, clarity, and renewal. Every piece of work is approached as sacred service, always guided by spirit and divine law.
Ethical and Justified Practice
I only ever work in a justified manner. In both Voudou and Conjure, this means that all spiritual work must be in harmony with divine justice and the natural order. Justified work ensures that any act, whether for protection, cleansing, blessing, or reversal, is righteous and balanced. Before any service is undertaken, I seek guidance through divination and spiritual discernment to confirm that the work is aligned with higher truth. This tradition does not seek harm; rather, it restores balance and rightness where they have been disturbed. When wrong has been done, justified work calls for truth and resolution. When hope or clarity are needed, the spirits are asked to open the way forward.
Saints, Loa, and Spiritual Allies
Each act of Conjure or Voudou work is guided by sacred allies, Saints, Loa, deities, and ancestral spirits, each embodying unique aspects of divine power and wisdom.
Papa Legba is the gatekeeper, opener of roads and pathways.
Erzulie Freda embodies love, beauty, and grace.
Baron Samedi governs transformation, endings, and renewal.
Marie Laveau – Spirit of New Orleans.
Saint Expedite brings swift action and miraculous intervention.
Our Lady of Grace and Saint Martha offer compassion, healing, and strength.
These sacred presences are honoured through prayer, offering, song, and candlelight, forming a living bridge between the human and the divine.
Training and Lineage
I have formally studied at Crossroads University, under the guidance of Denise Alvarado, a respected author, scholar, and practitioner of authentic New Orleans Voudou and Conjure. This training grounds my work in both tradition and integrity, ensuring that each service is performed with knowledge, respect, and ethical awareness. It is through this lineage that I honour the spirits, the ancestors, and the sacred city of New Orleans, a place where the old ways are kept alive through devotion and faith.
